The Foundation's Work in the Community
The Bulloch County Foundation for Public School Education is a community-based, not-for-profit, 501 (c)3 corporation whose mission is to encourage and support education excellence in Bulloch County. Its work is managed by a local board of trustees.

The Foundation funds the STAR Student/STAR Teacher program for Bulloch County's public and private high schools, the REACH Georgia Scholars program, the Bulloch County Schools Teacher of the Year program, and it bestows 20 innovation grants per year to classroom teachers.

Proceeds from the Statesboro 5K Turkey Trot, tax-deductible individual and corporate donations, and payroll deduction donations from the school district's employees make it possible for these programs to exist and thrive.
