Calling all oyster lovers! The Ogeechee Riverkeeper’s (ORK) annual oyster roast is back this fall.
Oysters for the Ogeechee will be held Thursday, Nov. 3 from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Isle of Hope Marina.
Attendees will enjoy an all-you-can-eat dinner of freshly steamed oysters. Barnes Restaurant will also be on hand with barbecue and sides.

Ticket holders can partake in unlimited beer and wine. The evening will feature a special Ogeechee River themed brew from Moon River Brewing.
DJ Jose Ray will host the evening, which will include a raffle and silent auction.
Silent auction items up for bid include:
- Two nights at a mountain cabin in North Georgia – Donated by Don Stack
- Original art by Betsy Cain – Donated by Betsy Cain
- Two nights at a vintage Tybee beach bungalow – Donated by Matt Toole and Cindy Mullally
- A one-year family pass – Donated by Coastal Heritage Society
- P and N Sirius sea kayak, with paddle, skirt and life vest – Donated by Alan Bailey
- Outdoor kit with backpack, tent, and sleeping bag – Donated by Bass Pro Shops
- One night stay at the Hotel Clermont in Atlanta – Donated by Hotel Clermont
- Three nights at a Tybee bungalow – Donated by Mick & Dana Danielson
The evening will be a celebration of the 50 year anniversary of the Clean Water Act, and highlight the crucial work undertaken by the ORK. The ORK actively works to protect, preserve, and improve the water quality of the Ogeechee River basin, which includes all of the streams flowing out to Ossabaw Sound and St. Catherine’s Sound.
