Lift As You Grow, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that empowers vulnerable and at-risk women, held their annual Farm to Table dinner last week. In 2022, the event took place in the alleyway at the Business Innovation Group. They had to change the date to December 2022 due to a hurricane. This year, they moved the event to The Fox Hall in the West District due to weather conditions.
The dinner is a 4-course meal prepared by Ogeechee Tech's Culinary Program. It is paired with wine chosen from Vino 1910. During the social hour, each guest had the opportunity to enjoy a signature drink prepared by A.J. Jetwani and his staff at Tandoor and Tap.
The planning committee for the event included Lift As You Grow, Statesboro Downtown Development Authority (Allen Muldrew and Elena McClendon), Tandoor and Tap (A.J. Jetwani), Delores Groomes Dickey (Brinson, Williams, and Groomes), and Vino (Michael Blackmon).
This year they included Chefs Bryan Richards from OTC and Zachary Dalgard from Bulloch Solutions.
Volunteers for the event included Lift As You Grow board members and participants, Parker College of Business College students, and OTC culinary students.
This year's sponsors were Georgia Power; Brinson, Williams, & Groomes; Bulloch Solutions; Renasant Bank; Citizens Bank; and Vyve.
"We are thrilled to announce that the sold out Farm to Table event raised $16,000," said Sally Scott. "We hope to increase that next year to $20,000. Anyone interested in sponsoring the event can contact me at [email protected]."

Lift As You Grow is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that empowers vulnerable and at-risk women by providing economic mobility through transitional employment and adult education as well as a safe space for a healing and healthy society.
Their goal is to prevent unemployment, homelessness, and abuse by bridging the gaps some women need by providing the resources to allow them to choose a secure and confident path to become productive citizens and thriving individuals.
The tentative date for the next Farm-to-Table Dinner 2024 is October 10th.
