Trees down, roads flooded and power outages reported in Bulloch

A severe thunderstorm pushed through Statesboro and Bulloch County on Wednesday, June 14, 2023 a little after 7 PM producing high wind gusts and heavy rain.

Trees have knocked down power lines all over the county and blocked roadways.

At 8 PM over 2,000 homes were without power.  Georgia Power and Excelsior crews are actively working to restore power.  They are spread out because of the wide area impacted by the storm.

There are no reported injures at this time related to the storm.

Bulloch County Public Works, Bulloch County Sheriffs Department, GSP Troopers, Statesboro Public Works and Statesboro Police Officers are actively trying to remove trees, protect citizens from downed power lines and check reports of road flooding.

Statesboro Fire and Bulloch County Firefighters have been busy responding power lines down causing fires and fire alarm calls due to power outages.

Multiple Traffic Signals are not operating due to power outages.

Stay in and do not venture out unless it is absolutely necessary.  Public safety agencies and power crews are stretched.
