Georgia Southern Track & Field and Cross Country Coach David Neville rounded out his 2024-25 coaching staff with the addition of Timothy Susko. Susko will coach the cross country and distance runners.

Susko comes to Statesboro after serving as the Head Cross Country coach and Assistant Track & Field coach at American International College.

"After a nationwide search I believe we found just the right person to lead our cross country and distance programs," Coach Neville said. "Timothy will bring some amazing qualities to Georgia Southern. During the interview process, I received nothing but raving reviews about Tim. Our ladies are in great hands!"

Susko's coaching career is marked by notable achievements including securing 18 Northeast-10 Conference scorers, and achieving NCAA provisional marks. His teams have clinched multiple top finishes including first place in the Men's Mile (2023), Men's 4x800m (2023), and Women's 10K (2024) events.

Prior to his time at AIC, Susko held the role of Assistant Track & Field/Cross Country Coach at Colgate University. He specialized in distance and middle-distance coaching, implementing effective training plans and workouts that significantly improved team performance. Susko helped sign Colgate's fastest recruiting class in over a decade and his efforts led to a significant reduction in the teams 8k average time by 45 seconds.

At Purdue Fort Wayne, Susko was an assistant coach/recruiting coordinator. He was part of the signing of the second largest signing class in school history. The team achieved its highest men's cross country individual finish in school history, 7th overall. He helped break the school record in the indoor 5k, 3k, and DMR along with the outdoor men's steeplechase record.

Prior to his time at Purdue Fort Wayne, Susko was a graduate assistant coach at Saint Francis University (PA). He worked with sprints, middle distance, hurdles, jumps, and relays, coaching 15 First Team All-NEC athletes, six NEC Individual Champions, and 10 First Team All-C4A/ECAC Honors. He coached athletes to 28 top 10 all time performances including two school records (Women's 4x100m relay school record and women's long jump school record). Susko was a member of the NEC Women's Coaching Staff of the Year.

Susko ran at Iona College and was a three-time MAAC XC Team Champion, which was a part of the longest active conference winning streak in Division I athletics. He was a member of the 2020 MAAC indoor DMR championship squad and the 2018 MAAC DMR runner-up. He qualified for the IC4A Championships in indoor and outdoor track and cross country. Susko was named first-team All-MAAC in the 4x400 relay in both 2018 and 2019.
