Statesboro Women’s Tennis secures two seed after 3-2 win over Ware County

The Lady Blue Devils get hard fought win to secure seed

STATESBORO — The Lady Devil tennis team hosted Ware County in a big region match on Tuesday with the number 2 seed up for grabs in the upcoming Region Tournament.

How It Happened

  • Naomi Feltman got the girls on the board first with an impressive 6-0,6-2 win at first singles. 
  • Maggie Proctor and Jolee Jordan then put the Devils up 2-0 with a 6-4,6-1 win at first doubles.  
  • Ware County fought back to win at 2nd and 3rd singles to tie the match up at 2-2.  
  • Lindsay Collins and Annalia Small took the court knowing that the match was now up to them. Both girls played with great poise as they played fantastic in winning 6-1,6-2
  • Sophia Pellegrino and Sanan Kaharbadi also won an exhibition doubles match
  • Nellie Watanabe won a singles exhibition.

Up Next

After this win, the Lady Blue Devils have secured the number two seed in their region. They will be back in action next Thursday, March 28, as they travel to Ware County for the region tournament.
