Georgia Southern football took part in a summer programming sponsored by APEX to help learn personal management skills while also participating in community service events around the Bulloch County area over the last two months.

There were seven sessions total, including five educational sessions covering topics of brand creation, NIL (name, image and likeness), money management, interviewing and social media skills as well as a networking luncheon. The networking luncheon consisted featured representatives from 11 of Georgia Southern's corporate partners (Morris Bank, Quadraft Real Estate Advisors LLC, Statesboro Real Estate, Jarrard Pre-Owned Vehicles, LHJ Insurance, State Farm Insurance, Sully's Steamers, Soyumi and Saucy Shrimp restaurants, Aspen Aerogels, Southern Exchange, Shuman Farms and Pioneer Consulting).

In addition, the student-athletes participated in mentoring the Boys and Girls Club of Bulloch County as well as a Bulloch Clean Up day for community service.

"We are extremely proud of our student-athletes and their desire to prepare for the future," said Sr. Associate Athletic Director for Student-Athlete Development Gleen Hart. "The players were very engaged in the sessions and overall, we had a fantastic summer program!"

The APEX (Athletes Preparing for Employment Experiences) program is designed to help prepare Georgia Southern student-athletes for the ultimate challenge after their playing careers- life.
