Georgia Southern men's basketball has officially announced its non-conference schedule.
The Eagles will have 13 non-conference affairs and one exhibition match, featuring three home games, nine road games, a multi-team event and a home game at Enmarket Arena in Savannah.
Georgia Southern has one exhibition tune-up at Hanner Fieldhouse against Augusta on Oct. 20 before the regular season begins.
The squad will open its 2023-24 campaign at in-state foe Georgia Tech on Nov. 6, traveling to McCamish Pavilion to face the Yellow Jackets.
After Georgia Tech, the Eagles will not be home again in November, trekking to Eastern Michigan (Nov. 11) for the first part of the MAC/SBC Challenge before playing the first of a home-and-home with Jacksonville (Nov. 14). The Dolphins will come to Statesboro on Dec. 2.
GS will then participate in the Pirate Classic from Nov. 19-21, hosted by East Carolina in Greenville. The Eagles will battle it out with Kennesaw State (Nov. 19), East Carolina (Nov. 20) and Northeastern (Nov. 21) right before the Thanksgiving holiday.
The Eagles follow by making the trip to East Lansing to battle with Michigan State on Nov. 28, the first time the two teams will meet in program history and the second of three Power Five opponents on the slate.
After Jacksonville's return trip, Georgia Southern heads to Jacksonville again, but this time to play North Florida on Dec. 9. Three days later, the squad will head to Tennessee on Dec. 12 for a first-time matchup with the Volunteers.
Finally, the Eagles round out the non-conference schedule with a pair of home games, albeit in different locations. The second non-conference game at Hanner Fieldhouse will be against UNCW (Dec. 16), and then the Eagles will host Florida Gulf Coast on Dec. 19 at Enmarket Arena in Savannah.
The final non-conference game will be the return MAC game on Feb. 10 at Hanner Fieldhouse, whose opponent will be determined by league standings.
Under first-year head coach Charlie Henry, the Eagles will look to improve upon a 17-16 2022-23 campaign.
