The Georgia Southern baseball team dropped a 9-4 contest to Georgia on Wednesday night at J.I. Clements Stadium. UGA took the season series victory with the win in Statesboro.

Georgia (10-3) plated three runs in the top of the first inning thanks to a two run homer and a runner scoring on a passed ball. UGA would also add one more in the top of the second inning from a solo homer and three in the top of the fourth inning from a three-run homer.

Georgia Southern (7-6) got on the board in the bottom of the fourth inning when the UGA pitcher balked with the bases loaded, bringing Jarrett Brown home.

The Bulldogs scored two more in the top of the fifth inning, one from a solo home run, and one from an RBI-single. The Eagles plated one in the bottom of the fifth inning when Brown doubled to right center field, bringing home Jesse Sherrill. Georgia Southern scored two more runs in the bottom of the seventh inning, the first coming from a bases-loaded walk by Brown, scoring Blake Evans, and the second coming from a Sam Blancato groundout, plating Peacher. The UGA pitching kept any further Eagle threat at bay for the remainder of the contest.

Anthony DiMola was charged with his first loss of the season, pitching for one inning and allowing two earned runs on two hits.
