Georgia Southern women's tennis was named an Intercollegiate Tennis Association All-Academic Team honoree for the ninth straight year, while all nine Eagles earned individual ITA Scholar-Athlete honors, announced Monday by the organization.
ITA All-Academic Teams are awarded to Division I schools that maintain a 3.20 GPA or better for the entire year, while ITA Scholar-Athletes must maintain a 3.50 GPA or better for the year.
Georgia Southern women's tennis carried a department-best 3.82 GPA for the 2023-24 academic year, earning the All-Academic Team honor for the ninth straight year and 15th year overall.
Individually, all nine Eagles on the roster earned ITA Scholar-Athlete honors - fifth-year senior Paula Hijos; seniors Sonja Keranenm, Silvia Martinez, Lindsay Tulenko and Sophie Wagemaker; sophomores Nanaka Kijima, Ninon Martinache and Anna Tsitavets as well as freshman Mackenzie Leopold. It's the third time over the last four seasons that the Eagles have had at least seven student-athletes earn ITA Scholar-Athlete honors.

Georgia Southern men's tennis carried a 3.71 GPA for the 2023-24 academic year, tops among male programs, to earn earning the All-Academic Team honor for the first time since 2020 and the eighth time overall.
Individually, eight Eagles on the roster earned ITA Scholar-Athlete honors - juniors Alex Amacher, Laurent Julia Calac, Pol del Castillo, Dimitris Paliouras, Alex Suk; sophomores Matthew Mitchell and Aaron James Williams; and freshman Holden Hall.
It's the most All-Academic honorees for Georgia Southern men's tennis in a single season in program history.
