NORFOLK, Va. – Chaunce Jenkins scored 16 points, and Old Dominion held Georgia Southern (GS) without a field goal for the final 6:12 of the contest to earn a 64-58 Sun Belt men's basketball win over the Eagles Saturday night in Chartway Arena.

Carlos Curry notched his fourth double-double of the season with 11 points and 13 rebounds, and Andrei Savrasov collected his fifth double-double with 11 points and 11 boards. Kaden Archie chipped in 11 points, and Nate Brafford scored eight.
Key Moments
The Eagles (12-13, 5-7) trimmed a nine-point second-half lead down to 56-54 and had five possessions to tie or take the lead but could not get over the hump. After Dericko Williams scored on a putback for a 58-54 ODU lead with 2:43 to go, and the Eagles forced two turnovers on the defensive end but came up empty on offense. Savrasov's 3-pointer missed the mark with under a minute to play, and the Monarchs (14-10, 6-6) went 6 for 6 from the charity stripe to seal the win.
Tyreek Scott-Grayson scored seven points in a 14-4 Old Dominion run early in the second half, and the Monarchs opened a 46-37 lead on a Faison Fields layup. An 8-2 run, sparked by consecutive triples by Savrasov and Derrick Harris Jr., helped trim the deficit to 52-49 with 7:42 remaining.
Stats and Notes
- It was the Eagles' sixth straight loss against Old Dominion. GS has not defeated ODU since Jan. 7, 1978.
- The Monarchs, who came into the game shooting 66 percent from the free-throw line, knocked down a season-high 26 free throws on 28 attempts.
- Savrasov and Curry both had double-doubles in the same game for the second time this season (Piedmont, Dec. 7).
- The Eagles were held to 29 percent shooting in the game and 26 percent in the second half.
