As athletic seasons begin across Bulloch County Schools' three high schools, athletic directors and principals are asking for the community’s support in helping maintain a safe and enjoyable environment for all spectators—especially children.
For safety, children who are in elementary or middle school—or younger—will no longer be admitted into any high school athletic event unless they are accompanied by a responsible adult who is at least 18 years old. Once inside the venue, children must remain under the direct supervision of the accompanying adult throughout the event. This safety protocol applies to all athletic events hosted by the district’s three high schools: Statesboro High School, Southeast Bulloch High School, and Portal Middle High School.
“Our goal is to provide a positive and secure environment where families and fans can come together to support our student-athletes,” said Bulloch County Schools Public Relations Director, Hayley Greene. “We appreciate the community’s cooperation.”
The school district encourages families to plan ahead and ensure that young children who attend games are properly supervised. Event staff will be monitoring entrances and facilities to enforce this policy.
For more information about upcoming games and school-specific athletic guidelines, follow the high schools' websites and social media, plus the GoFAN website and mobile application. Good luck to the Portal Panthers, Southeast Bulloch Yellow Jackets and Statesboro High Blue Devil athletes, coaches, and fans this year.

The community is invited to the annual Downtown Pep Rally on Thursday, August 7, from 5:30 - 8 p.m., on the Bulloch County Courthouse Square. Thank you to the Downtown Development Authority, Vyve, Statesboro Natural Gas and other sponsors for making this event possible. Wear your spirit gear and be ready to cheer on your schools' coaches, athletes, marching bands, and cheerleaders.
