Statesboro Police Department seeking aggravated assault suspect
On June 8, at 7:25 p.m., SPD officers responded to an apartment in Mulberry Court Apartments for a male who had been cut across the neck. Suspect Wendell Johnson fled the scene and is currently wanted for one count of Aggravated Assault. Johnson is 6’ tall and weighs 215 lbs. He is known to frequent the Groover Lane, Mulberry Street, and Packinghouse Road areas.

GS Eagles: Mia Kness joins women’s golf coaching staff
Kness transferred to Georgia Southern from Seton Hall, where she compiled a 75.52 career scoring average with two victories, five top-5 finishes, nine top-10s and 15 career top-20s. Her career scoring average still ranks second in Seton Hall program history. Kness spent the 2022-23 academic year serving as the Director of Championships for the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference.
