Georgia team earns third at National 4-H Forestry Invitational
The Georgia team members were Jackson Thigpen, Ann Parker, Lucy Saxon and Janelle Spivey. Events included tree identification, tree measurement, compass and pacing, insect and disease identification, topographic map use, forest evaluation, the forestry bowl, and a written forestry exam.

Nevils and Stilson Elementaries without power; Bus routes will run at 11:30am
The schools will remain open for the full day, including afterschool programs. The district will run an early route for all bus riders beginning at 11:30 a.m. Any option two young riders without supervision at the bus stop will be returned to the school and taken home during the regular dismissal time. All children will be fed lunch before the 11:30 early bus dismissal. Car rider dismissal time will remain as regularly scheduled; however, parents may choose to pick up their child early.
