This Saturday and Sunday, join members of the Statesboro Amateur Radio Society (STARS) and the Southeast Amateur Radio Association (SARA) along with thousands of other local amateur radio operators around the world for Winter Field Day, an exercise of skill and fun. The general public is invited to come out to the Horseman’s Arena and join the fun! Information on Amateur Radio and how to become a ham will be available at the event, and hams are eager to share their love of this hobby. 

The Thursday, January 25, work session of the Bulloch County Board of Education featured a school spotlight on Sallie Zetterower Elementary and an update on Specially Designed Instruction (SDI) for students with disabilities at Langston Chapel Elementary, Stilson Elementary, and Langston Chapel Middle.

Langston Chapel Middle School boys basketball haven't won a region championship since 2013. This year, the boys team is undefeated and one game away from bringing the "Ship back to the Chap".

Georgia Southern swimmer Lilly Kasra puts the “student” in student-athlete, having presented two projects at the second-largest public health summit in the world this past November. You can see her swim with her team on Saturday morning at 11am at the RAC.

This week, students in Bulloch County schools enjoyed locally sourced beef in their spaghetti thanks to the Bulloch County Schools Nutrition team and Hunter Cattle Co. Hunter's Kristan Fretwell and her family visited Stilson Elementary to enjoy the lunch with students.

The Eagles erased a 12-point deficit in the second half but failed to capitalize. They take on Old Dominion in Norfolk on Saturday.

Kennedy Pond Conservancy's "Better In Boots" Music Festival is Saturday, February 3, at Kennedy Pond. Advance tickets are $15 per person, and ages 5 and under get in free. A great lineup of festival features and musical acts are set to be at the event. Find the link below to purchase tickets.
