OTC Adult Education hosts send-off for EAGLE delegate James Henderson
James Henderson, Ogeechee Technical College’s 2023-2024 Dinah Culbreath Wayne Exceptional Adult Georgian in Literacy Education (EAGLE) delegate, was honored this week by OTC faculty and staff, as he prepares to travel to the state leadership institute in Atlanta. Henderson, a Brooklet native, graduated from the Adult Education Program in 2023. His motivation and eagerness to learn allowed him to complete his credentials in less than six months.

Speaker Jon Burns unveils Capitol portrait of late Speaker David Ralston
Speaker David Ralston was the 73rd Speaker of the Georgia House of Representatives. He passed away in 2022 following an extended illness. At the time of his passing, Speaker Ralston was the longest currently-serving state house speaker in the country. He represented Georgia’s seventh House district which includes Fannin and Gilmer counties and a portion of Dawson County.

The Finfish Advisory Panel opening is for a recreational angler residing in a southern coastal county (McIntosh, Glynn, or Camden). Applicants must possess a current Georgia recreational fishing license and SIP permit, and cannot hold a commercial fishing license. The Shrimp Advisory Panel opening is for a commercial shrimp castnetter. Applicants must have held a Georgia Resident Commercial Fishing license for the past two years, reported shrimp landings, and possess all required state permits.
