CHATHAM COUNTY: Interstate Closure Advisory for the 16@95 Improvement Projects

Weather permitting, Georgia Department of Transportation (Georgia DOT) construction partners will close interstate lanes at the locations below for the 16@95 Improvement Projects, which will widen Interstate 16 (I-16) and reconstruct the I-16/I-95 Interchange. The lane closures are necessary for widening activities for I-16 and bridge work at the I-16/I-516 Interchange.

Completion of a hunter education course is required for any person born on or after January 1, 1961, who purchases a season hunting license in Georgia, is at least 12 years old and hunts without adult supervision, or hunts big game (deer, turkey, bear) on a wildlife management area. Courses are available in person and online.

This is an annual partnership to provide free individual income tax preparation and e-file services to taxpayers. All tax returns are prepared and reviewed by accounting students and faculty who are IRS VITA certified and is generally available to taxpayers with a household income of $79,000 or less. Services begin Monday, January 29, and are first come, first served.

Soren Butler was named the Collegiate Rifle Coaches Association (CRCA) Head Coach of the Year and Abby Buesseler was named the CRCA Assistant Coach of the Year, as announced by the organization this week. It is the first honor for both coaches.

The Dental Assisting students played games with the pre-K students, talked about germ bugs (bacterial plaque), and gave lessons on proper brushing and flossing. The pre-K students enjoyed sitting in the big dental chair and using the high-volume dental suction tool called “Mr. Thirsty.”
