At noon on March 26, all of Eagle Nation will come together for Georgia Southern’s first-ever Day of Giving: “Only for Southern.” This 24-hour event is designed to unite our campuses and communities in support of student success — displaying the loyalty, passion and True Blue pride that are the hallmarks of being an Eagle. The event sets an ambitious goal of securing 1,000 gifts within 24 hours.

A mission team from Statesboro’s Pittman Park United Methodist Church (PPUMC) in collaboration with Big Hope Bearden Ministries Inc. will visit the Dominican Republic this summer to bring hope, support, and transformative change to communities in need. CHATHAM COUNTY: Interstate Closure Advisory for the 16@95 Improvement Projects

Weather permitting, Georgia Department of Transportation (Georgia DOT) construction partners will close interstate lanes at the locations below for the 16@95 Improvement Projects, which will widen Interstate 16 (I-16) and reconstruct the I-16/I-95 Interchange. The lane closures are necessary for widening activities for I-16 and bridge work at the I-16/I-516 Interchange.

Reminder: GSU School of Accountancy offering annual free income tax assistance

This is an annual partnership to provide free individual income tax preparation and e-file services to taxpayers. All tax returns are prepared and reviewed by accounting students and faculty who are IRS VITA certified and is generally available to taxpayers with a household income of $79,000 or less. Services begin Monday, January 29, and are first come, first served.
