Statesboro City Council approved tonight an ordinance requiring the use of mask or face covering in public during the COVID-19 outbreak. Statesboro Mayor Jonathan McCollar immediately signed the ordinance after the vote to approve.

Voters who have not already voted in person during the three weeks of early voting or by absentee ballot will have one final chance on Tuesday, August 11 th to cast their vote. The polls open 7 a.m. and remain open to 7 p.m.

A food drop for more than 1,000 families will be held on Saturday, August 8, beginning at 9:30 a.m., at Julia P. Bryant Elementary School (421 West Main Street) in Statesboro.
