On August 15, 2025, Willow Pond Senior Care hosted its 2nd Annual Wacky Walker Wash, a playful summer tradition that brings out the child in everyone. Residents laughed, splashed, and even dared each other to dash through sprinklers for a refreshing break from the heat.
It is a FUN way to enjoy the summer and still embrace those playful emotions from childhood or adulthood.
“This is our 2nd year doing the ‘Walker Wash’, almost a game of chicken to see who’s brave enough to get wet,” shared Sara Chandler, Life Enrichment Director. “This year we even added a water gun fight into the mix!”

From sprinklers to popsicles, every detail was designed with safety and joy in mind. Some residents simply washed their walkers and stayed dry, while others embraced the spray for a full summer splash. Each resident earned 50 butterbeans (for bidding in a butterbean auction!) for their brave walk through the colorful sprinkler tunnel.
“The Wacky Walker Wash brings in a different perspective for our seniors,” Chandler added. “It lets them escape adulthood for a little while and relive the fun of playing in the rain as kids.”
This was a day of laughter, water, and friendship, proving that fun has no age limit at Willow Pond!
