On Tuesday, November 7, the Statesboro Exchange Club hosted its annual "One Nation Under God" luncheon. The event took place at Uncle Shug's on Main.
The luncheon included a delicious meal, raffles, and a presentation from special guest speaker Mr. William "Bill" A. Barnello, Jr., Chief of Plans & Operations at US Army Garrison Fort Moore.
Local law enforcement and pastors from local churches participated in the event as invited guests to the program, which celebrated the national creed as a guiding principle for these organizations especially.

"This was our 30th 'One Nation Under God' event," said Rhonda Busby, the Exchange Club Georgia District Vice President. "We hold this event annually each November and use it as a time to come together with local pastors and law enforcement to help celebrate our freedoms. We also do it to remind everybody that we are one nation under God. The National Exchange has four pillars of service, which are community service, Americanism, prevention of child abuse, and youth programs. And as part of the Americanism component of service, we do this program each year for local law enforcement and churches."
About the The Exchange Club's "One Nation Under God" project

The One Nation Under God project is an American citizenship project of The National Exchange Club and its local clubs in the United States and Puerto Rico. It was adopted on July 30, 1964. Its purposes are to strengthen individual and moral responsibility, heighten awareness of America's rich religious heritage, and encourage praise and thanks to God for the blessings of liberty.
November, observed nationally as One Nation Under God Month, is a special time of year when Exchangites join together to increase public appreciation of the important roles religious faith and freedom have played in the nation's history, and build greater respect for the history and meaning of our flag.
