The Statesboro Jaycees are reflecting on a year of dedicated participation and community fundraising efforts. The Statesboro Jaycees are the local chapter for JCI USA, an organization made up of young professionals who work together to make a difference within their communities.
The group held its end of year banquet on Feb. 4 at Bull & Barrel's Walnut Room.
Over the course of the past year, the group held several fundraisers, including:
- The Luck of the Irish and the Jaycees Nite, raising $3,823.04
- Jaycee's Night Out, raising $5,244.62 for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society
- Poker Run, raising $836 for Bikers Against Child Abuse
- Toys for Tots, which collected 1,000 toys for nearly 300 children
At this year’s banquet, Bailey Catrabone-Brinson was named the Jaycee of the Year. Catrabone-Brinson has been a Jaycee for three years and served as the events director in 2022 and 2023. She works at David Marketing Company as the head of billing and promotionals.
“Bailey is dedicated to the Jaycees and is always there for events and volunteer opportunities, she is a major key to our organization,” said Mandy Kennedy, communications director for the Jaycees.

- Meredith Avery: Eternal Service Award
- Lauren Avery: Cool Cats and Kittens Award
- Matt LaTulip: Calmer of the Storms Award
- Chris Wiggins: Calmer of the Storms Award
- Anthony Leveritt: Old Faithful Award
- Christy Kennedy: President's Award
- Hugh Mays: On-the-spot Award, Inquisitive Award, and Super Spreader Award
- Mandy Kennedy: Trail Blazer Award
- Katie Christmas: Core Values Award
