Statesboro home heavily damaged by fire Monday night

Fire advanced rapidly in a single story wooden structure on Monday evening heavily damaging the home. Statesboro and Bulloch County Firefighters responded to the fire.

A Statesboro home received significant damage from fire on Monday evening, May 20, 2024.  

At 10:22pm, Bulloch County 911 dispatched Statesboro and Bulloch County Fire Departments to a house fire in the 900 block of Tee Pee Way in the Indian Trail subdivision off of Burkhalter road outside the city of Statesboro.

The first firefighters responding reported visible flames from highway 80 and requested more firefighters and equipment to the scene.

Firefighters made an aggressive attack on the fire in the single story wooden structure but due to the advancement of the fire, before firefighters arrived, the home was heavily damaged by fire.

Firefighters had the fire under control within minutes of arriving, but remained on the scene making sure all of the hot spots were extinguished.

Bulloch County EMS and Bulloch County Sheriff's deputies responded to assist.

There were no reported injuries in the fire.

Statesboro Fire Departments CAFE unit responded along with American Red Cross Disaster Action Team members to provide temporary assistance to the occupants of the home.

Statesboro Fire investigators will conduct a routine cause and origin investigation to determine the cause of the fire.
