Georgia Department of Transportation continues essential road work throughout Southeast Georgia. As a result, work on construction and maintenance projects will continue Saturday, June 28 through Friday, July 4.
Independence Day holiday lane closure restrictions on interstate and major state routes will be in effect from 12 p.m., Thursday, July 3, until 10 p.m., Sunday, July 6. During this time, no construction or maintenance related lane closures that restrict or interfere with traffic will be permitted.
All work is subject to change due to weather or other factors. Motorists are cautioned to reduce their speed while traveling through work zones, pay attention and watch for workers.
