26 arrests made in the City of Statesboro this weekend

The Bulloch County Sheriff’s Office conducted a criminal interdiction patrol operation in the City of Statesboro this past weekend which resulted in multiple arrests and the seizure of several illegal firearms.

This was initiated by Bulloch County Sheriff Noel Brown after he received several complaints from citizens who lived on the west side of Statesboro. They were concerned about an increase in criminal activity, particularly several shooting incidents.

Members of the Sheriff’s Crime Suppression, Canine, Patrol and Criminal Investigation Divisions were involved in this operation.

They made twenty-six arrests and seized four firearms along with various illegal narcotics.

The Sheriff would like to thank the Deputies involved for the work they put into this effort to make our community safer. He also said many of the Deputies involved were not scheduled to work, but volunteered to come in and help out. The Georgia State Patrol also assisted with this operation.

Sheriff Brown intends to continue these concentrated patrols as workforce allows.

The areas selected for these patrols will be based on citizen complaints and reports of violent crime, especially those incidents in which shots were fired.
