The Statesboro Regional Art Association (SRAA) made an impressive showcase on Friday, May 16, where members of the association gathered to relax, socialize and show off their brilliant creations—everything from fiber arts, ceramics, watercolor, pastels, pen and ink, digital art and plenty more were displayed.

The two hour event, starting at 5:30pm and located at 41 W. Main St. in downtown Statesboro, immediately welcomed guests with its inviting atmosphere as they walked through the glass doors.

They were greeted by organized wood and glass displays holding a variety of artistic mediums, while the walls were decorated with hanging pieces and a table in the corner offered tasty foods like chocolates, crackers, fruits, deviled eggs, and other refreshments.

Here, guests had the opportunity to look around and potentially purchase unique art as well as meet the face behind the canvas, who happens to reside in the same city that they do.

Sally Minton, vice president of SRAA and one of the event's organizer's, said that the goal of this event is to give the community a chance to see the variety of art created in the area as well as to raise awareness about the artistic expression that exists locally.

The cost of membership is $35 per year for regular members or $20 per year for students. While the number of members is only around 60 people, SRAA continues to grow with each event, adding a new stroke of paint to the canvas with each new member they gain.
