A house fire on Lagoon Road in Bulloch County left a home completely destroyed Monday evening, June 30, 2025.
Bulloch County 911 received a call reporting the fire at 9:05 PM and immediately dispatched both Bulloch County Fire Department and Statesboro Fire Department to the scene. The affected residence was located on Lagoon Road, in the vicinity of Go Bar Landing.
Upon arrival, the first engine confirmed that a double wide manufactured home was engulfed in flames. Firefighters quickly requested additional support, including more firefighters and tanker trucks, to combat the intense blaze.
Fortunately, the male occupant of the home was able to escape the inferno without sustaining any injuries.
In the aftermath of the fire, the Statesboro Fire CAFE (Community Assistance in Fire Emergency) Unit and members of the Bulloch County Volunteer Organizations Active in Disaster (VOAD) were on scene to provide immediate, temporary assistance to the displaced resident. The American Red Cross Disaster Action Team (DAT) has also been requested to offer further support.
Tragically, the home is considered a total loss. Bulloch County Fire Department will be conducting a routine investigation to determine the fire's cause and origin.
This incident serves as a reminder of the potential dangers of fire and the importance of having working smoke detectors in every home. Local authorities and organizations like Bulloch VOAD and the American Red Cross stand ready to assist residents in times of need.
