Drew Wiggins, longtime employee of Anderson's General Store, has been promoted to the position of General Manager. He was previously a manager and full-time buyer with the store, and when the General Manager position came available, the Anderson family quickly offered the spot to Drew.

The family says that throughout the years, he has proven himself to be a natural leader with his charismatic personality and strong understanding of how to serve the store's customers.

"I started at Anderson's right after high school and worked through college until graduating Georgia Southern University in 2015," Wiggins said. "The customers and the employees are what have made the store a great place to work."

Anderson’s General Store is a division of Bulloch Fertilizer Company that began as a retail store in the mid-1960s. The store was originally located at the Bulloch Fertilizer Plant in downtown Statesboro. In early 2005, Purina approached the Andersons with the idea of becoming a Purina Premier Dealer. After much consideration, Bulloch Fertilizer decided to expand their retail operation and move the store to its current location on Highway 80 East. Anderson’s General Store opened its doors to the public there on October 1st, 2005.

The store has progressed from being strictly a feed, seed, and horse tack store to a southern lifestyle store. Anderson's has expanded their product lines to include the largest selection of boots in the area, men's clothing, hats, t-shirts, hunting gear, fishing gear, garden items, grills, sunglasses, toys, a large pet department, and a women's department.

Their products include such name brands as Drake, Columbia, Carhartt, Georgia Boot, Ariat, Durango, and Dan Post. Their main focus and priority is friendly customer service, with a motto of "We go the extra mile for you."

"Anderson's has a small town feel and an environment that represents Bulloch and the surrounding counties well," Wiggins said. "The Anderson family has been great to work for. Their focus on family values and serving the community are what have set their businesses apart for many years, and I enjoy playing a part in that."
