My brushstrokes and imagery then beckon the viewer to a deeper engagement, beyond the visual, inviting them to transcend the surface and truly immerse themselves in each piece, discovering layered meanings woven just under the surface."

Thursday, May 8 at 7pm | Dance the night away with Larry & Joe
After the opening, stroll down to the Emma Kelly Theater to enjoy the sounds and storytelling of this one-of-a-kind fusion of Appalachian folk and traditional Venezuelan music. Click here for tickets.
Larry & Joe is the duo of Joropo maestro Larry Bellorín (Monagas, Venezuela) and GRAMMY-nominated bluegrass and oldtime star Joe Troop (Winston-Salem, North Carolina). These two virtuosic multi-instrumentalists fuse their respective Venezuelan and Appalachian folk traditions on the harp, banjo, cuatro, fiddle, upright bass, guitar, and maracas to prove that music has no borders.
According to Folk Alley, "Their virtuosity is jaw dropping live…they both take great, transcendent joy in making this music together, and that kind of joy is contagious."
Their engaging bilingual (esp / eng) program includes storytelling, humor, singalongs, and dancing.
