Child drowns in pool at Cambridge at Southern Apartments

A two year old child drowned in the pool at Cambridge at Southern - The Pines Saturday afternoon. The child was critical at the scene and was transported to EGRMC.

Bulloch County public safety agencies responded to a drowning at Cambridge at Southern - The Pines apartment complex located at 122 Lanier Drive in Statesboro, Georgia on Saturday.

Bulloch County 911 dispatched Bulloch County EMS and Statesboro Police Officers on at 5:39 PM on Saturday, April 22, 2023 the a child that had drowned in the pool at the apartment complex.

Bulloch County EMS transported the 2 year old female child to East Georgia Regional Medical Center in critical condition

Statesboro Police Chief Mike Broadhead did not have an update on the condition of the child at the time the story was published.

Statesboro Police Department is handling the investigation.

Cambridge has been in the news lately for two shootings, one fatal, in a little over a week.

Due to the high crime in and around the complex and high number of calls for service, the Statesboro Police Department has been trying to get the complex owners to work with them to install security cameras to no avail.
