The C&E Learning Academy will soon host its first City Gala for children up to age 12 in the community. This "kiddie prom" promises to be an event like none other. The gala will be held Saturday, February 18, from 6-10pm in the community building at Luetta Moore Park.

C&E owner, Eisha Oglesby, is excited to bring a new experience for the children of Statesboro and hopes to make it an annual event. This is a fundraising event for the C&E Learning Academy.

“We’re home-based, and I decided to branch out and allow the community to bring their kids out to something positive and fun that the smaller kids can enjoy,” Oglesby said.

Her goal is to have the community connect with each other and give smaller children and their parents an opportunity to dress up and have fun.

C&E Learning Academy business

C&E Learning Academy is an in-home childcare facility that has served children ages 1 to 3 years old for four years now. Oglesby has worked in childcare since graduating from high school and spent five years in the industry before later working in the medical field at a pediatric office. However, she believed in her faith and knew that God had another plan for her.

She opened her childcare business in 2019 with the goal of educating, shaping, and molding the minds of children.

"C&E stands for Chris and Eisha," Oglesby said. "Chris, my husband of 11 years, is very supportive and encouraging; he pushes me as an entrepreneur."

The learning academy has made huge strides in tackling teaching speech and reading to the children and even became Quality Rated within the first year of being open.

“It’s the gift that God gave me, and I’m so thankful for it," Oglesby shared. "I didn’t realize I had it because I was too busy trying to work in pediatrics."

This year, they will expand into a new building on Northside Drive to accommodate more children. Oglesby says she and the children can’t wait to sing their favorite original song in their new building.
