New nonprofit to help process foster care tax credits
About 700 young Georgians age out of the foster care system each year, most with no family to return to after they leave the system. Contributions to the tax credit program will be used for “wraparound” services – including housing, food, and transportation – to help support these young people while they attend college or technical school.

Georgia Ports Authority achieves record Ro/Ro in FY2023
Ro/Ro imports were up by 99,000 units year-over-year, or 24 percent, while exports increased 11,500 units, or more than 7 percent. Besides expansion of existing business, GPA also added Nissan as a Brunswick customer in FY2023. Colonel’s Island Terminal now handles Nissan imports from Japan and Mexico.

Georgia Milestones scores improve in 2022-23, with notable improvement in early literacy
Most gains in the 2022-2023 Georgia Milestones scores occurred in ELA and mathematics and at the elementary and middle-school levels, while most declines occurred in science and social studies and at the high school level.
