Bulloch Commissioners kicked off 2024 with a three and half hour meeting approving 404 new homes to be constructed in the County. Click on the picture to read about all action taken by the Commission.

Council members Paulette Chavers, Ginny Hendley and Shari Barr accepted the Oath of Office administered by Bulloch County Probate Judge Lorna Deloach at Tuesday's City Council meeting. Citizens are invited to attend the Oath of Office ceremony on Tuesday, January 2, 2024 at 9:00 am in the City Council chambers at Statesboro City Hall.

Through the generous donations of local businesses, organizations, and the community, the City of Statesboro was able to provide gifts to 102 families and 265 kids.

All city employees will be moved to a new pay plan beginning on January 1, 2024. The employees will see the new pay rates reflected in their January 25th paycheck. Bulloch County Commissioners announced that two employees have been promoted to replace retiring public safety leadership. Randy Tillman was promoted to Public Safety Director and Brian Hendrix was promoted to Bulloch County EMS Director. Governor Brian P. Kemp announced a state employee retention pay supplement of $1,000 for each of the roughly 112,000 state employees and 196,000 educators and school support staff across the state.

GA EPD representatives attended the Coastal Regional Water Planning Meeting and stressed that no Bulloch County Wells have been permitted. They will provide opportunities to engage the public in the process and no permits will be issued without public input. Citizens with concerns about their wells can have their wells included in the permit assessment. Click on the picture to read the story for information on how to have your residential well included.
