Get ready for two weekends of Disney’s Finding Nemo Jr., July 14th through 16th and July 21st through 23rd at the Emma Kelly Theatre. A wonderful cast of talented children will bring to life this 60-minute musical adaptation of the beloved 2003 Pixar movie Finding Nemo, with new music by award-winning songwriting team Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez.
Marlin (played by Madison Harvey), an anxious and over-protective clownfish, lives in the Great Barrier Reef with his kid Nemo (Elsa King), who longs to explore the world beyond their anemone home. But when Nemo is captured and taken to Sydney, Marlin faces his fears and sets off on an epic adventure across the ocean.
With the help of lovable characters such as optimistic Dory (Charlotte Bridges), laid-back sea turtle Crush (Shelby Croft), and the supportive Tank Gang, Marlin and Nemo both overcome challenges on their journey to find each other and themselves.
“My favorite part about working on this show has been helping out with choreography and the building of props and set pieces," Assistant Stage Manager Shanna Haselton said. "Seeing it all happen from behind the scenes has been really enlightening.”
Featuring memorable songs such as “Just Keep Swimming,” “Fish Are Friends Not Food,” and “Go With the Flow,” Finding Nemo JR. brings a vibrant underwater world to life on stage in a story full of family, friendship, and adventure.
“Watching the entire show come together has been really great," Kenzie Harvey, Stage Manager, Choreographer, Props, Costume and Set Design, added. "Just seeing the teamwork that has gone into it is awesome.”
Friday shows are at 7pm. Saturday and Sunday shows are at 3pm. Tickets are just $20 each.
