The investigation into the 2012 murder of Akeila Rochelle Martin is still ongoing nine years after her death. Akeila was shot and killed while in the parking lot of the Platinum Lounge on August 19, 2012 at approximately 2:50 am.

In the last two weeks there have been FIVE COVID deaths. Three were reported in that last three days. Bulloch County now has over 127 citizens who have died from complications resulting from COVID. EGRMC has 47 COVID patients in the hospital.
