Bulloch County 911 dispatched Statesboro and Bulloch County Fire along with Bulloch County EMS and Statesboro Police Department to a fire involving Statesboro apartments and business.

At 11:59 am on Tuesday, June 7, 2022 firefighters responded to the Pestmaster Services building located at 834 Northside Drive East in Statesboro.
The first unit arrived on the scene at the Statesboro apartments and business fire, less than a minute after the call was dispatched. The firefighter reported heavy smoke coming from the building and possible entrapment in a rear upstairs apartment.

The first fire engine was on the scene in minutes and began an aggressive attack and search and rescue operation of the upstairs apartment.
The apartments were determined to be clear and there was no entrapments confirmed.
Bulloch County EMS did evaluate one occupant at the scene but did not transport.

The fire was under control in minutes. The building appeared to have heavy smoke damage to the upstairs portion of the building along with fire and water damage to the rear apartments. The rapid response and aggressive attack prevented more severe damage to the building.
Statesboro Police Department closed a small portion of Northside Drive East to allow access for fire engines and emergency response vehicles.
Statesboro Fire remains on the scene at the time this story was published making sure all hot spots are extinguished and completing overhaul operations.
A routine cause and origin investigation will be conducted by the Statesboro Fire Department.
