Health Department Locations in Southeast Health District Remain Open September 3 to Provide COVID Vaccinations to State Employees, Bulloch School teachers, staff, eligible students and to Interested Individuals
In an effort to promote COVID-19 vaccinations for state employees, Governor Brian Kemp has announced that next Friday, September 3, will be a state holiday. It is his hope that this will incentivize those current state employees who are unvaccinated to take the time to go get their COVID-19 vaccinations.
Bulloch Schools get long weekend
In an email to Bulloch Schools staff Friday afternoon, August 27th, Bulloch Schools Superintendent Charles Wilson, announced that they will also close the schools on Friday, September 3 in conjunction with Governor Kemp's declared state vaccine holiday.
The state and schools had previously scheduled a holiday on Monday, September 6 for Labor Day.
This will give teachers and staff a much needed break with a four day weekend. However, students will get a five day weekend.
- Bulloch School students will be out of school from Friday, September 3 through Tuesday, September 7. All students will return to school on Wednesday, September 8.
- Bulloch teachers and staff will be off from Friday, September 3 through Monday, September 6. They will return on Tuesday, September 7 for a planning and professional development day.
In addition, Wilson announced the Bulloch County Health department has also reserved Tuesday, September 7 as a vaccination day for Bulloch Schools employees.
All health department sites in the Southeast Health District will stay open on Friday, September 3rd to vaccinate those who work so diligently for our state as well as anyone who is interested in receiving their COVID-19 vaccine.
Please note, traditional health department services will not be provided on this date.
The COVID-19 vaccines are provided on a walk-in basis and do not require an appointment.
