The Georgia Southern (GS) Eagles men’s basketball team will continue its four-game road trip at Louisiana Saturday.

The Eagles and Ragin' Cajuns will tip off at 8 p.m. on ESPN+ and the Georgia Southern Sports Network.

GS has won two of its last five games. The team is coming off a 70 to 67 loss at Texas State on Thursday night.

The Eagles are 3-6 on the road this season and 4-6 away from home.

The team has been making some positive progress, including ranking single-digit turnovers in eight games. GS currently ranks fifth in the Sun Belt in turnover margin (2.4). The team is third in the league in least turnovers (11.3/gm). And, after not making double-digit three-pointers in any game last season, GS has made at least 10 triples in three contests this season.

Saturday's matchup is the lone meeting between the Eagles and the Ragin’ Cajuns this season.

Louisiana has won its last seven games and is tied for first with Southern Miss atop the conference standings.

The Cajuns were also selected to win the Sun Belt in the Preseason Coaches Poll. They are currently undefeated at home at 8-0 and coming off a 72 to 57 win over Troy Thursday night in the Cajundome.

Saturday’s game is expected to see the following results starting lineup from GS:

  • #0 - Kaden Archie
  • #2 - Jalen Finch
  • #3 - Tyren Moore
  • #10 - Carlos Curry
  • #12 - Andrei Savrasov

Additionally, at the game the Eagles coaching staff will be participating in Suits and Sneakers Week, the signature initiative of the American Cancer Society and the NABC’s Coaches vs. Cancer Program.

The nationwide campaign serves to unite coaches across all levels of basketball to raise funds and awareness about the fight against cancer and promote the American Cancer Society.

Following Saturday’s contest, the Eagles continue their four-game road trip at Georgia State next Thursday at 7 p.m. For more information, click here
