Bulloch/GSU Relay for Life is April 21

Funds raised from Relay For Life events allow the ACS to attack cancer in dozens of ways – from developing breakthrough therapies and innovative research, to building supportive communities that come together to help those affected by cancer with access to treatment. The ACS will also host a Survivor Dinner on March 23.

Local participants are preparing to once again join together at the annual Relay For Life of Bulloch County/Georgia Southern University to help raise funds for cancer research.

On April 21, Relay for Life will be held on Main Street in downtown Statesboro.

At Relay for Life events, individuals and teams set up around a path or track. Each team has at least one participant on the track at all times, symbolizing the battle waged around the clock by those facing cancer. Each participant raises money and awareness to help the American Cancer Society (ACS) save lives.

The ACS has recently awarded $100,000 in transportation grants to many health systems throughout Georgia. These funds will be used to address the unmet transportation needs of patients, particularly those vulnerable populations experiencing an unequal burden of cancer.
