The goal of the project is to identify a group of highly qualified students and to render 161 scholarships over a six-year period in an effort to increase student retention and graduation rates.

Lindsey Breaux, a GS communications sciences and disorders student, spent two weeks working with the local community in Belize. For many communities in the country, speech therapy services offered by study abroad programs are the only viable option.

The event will offer fun for the whole family including bounce houses, games, and the Bobcat Regatta. The Bobcat Regatta is a competition made up of teams who build boats out of cardboard and duct tape - nothing else! Awards will be given to the overall team that crosses Ezra Pond the fastest.

After public outcry and citizens filing a petition in Superior Court, the Bulloch County Board of Education announced on Friday that it will postpone a vote on on the proposed property tax increase and host three additional public hearings about the 2023 millage rate.

The funding is part of a $3M initiative aimed at improving learning outcomes for middle school students.

The grant funds were made possible through Canoochee EMC’s Operation Round Up program. By rounding their bill to the next dollar, thousands of Cannoochee EMC members have helped contribute over $2 million to their communities since it first began the program in 2001. These grant funds will help purchase two heavy duty jack stands for program and instructional use.

The university's Day1Access program helped students save by providing digital course materials, in lieu of traditional textbooks.

The community-wide event is for anyone interested in increasing education outcomes, prosperity, and quality of life in Bulloch County.
