BOE Second Harvest Food Drop

A food drop for more than 1,000 families will be held on Saturday, August 8, beginning at 9:30 a.m., at Julia P. Bryant Elementary School (421 West Main Street) in Statesboro.

Boxes with a one-week supply of perishable and non-perishable food supplies will be distributed to any families in need. This will be curbside distribution only.

Because this is an emergency food drop there will be no limitations or restrictions on who can receive the food. The primary goal of this drop to is to provide food children and families that have been receiving food through the summer Feed-A-Kid program. However, no one who needs food will be turned away.

Due to COVID-19, families are asked to remain in their vehicles and volunteers will load the food into your vehicle. You should enter the Julia P. Bryant parking lot from the Foss Street entrance and continue through the parking lot to line up in front of the school facing Foss Street by two car widths.

Volunteers will begin arriving around 8 AM to begin unloading the trucks and setting up the food drop. Distribution will begin at 9:30 AM.

This food drop is a partnership with the Second Harvest/Feeding America Food Bank.

A special thank you to Bulloch VOAD and Feed the Boro for coordinating this effort and to the Statesboro Kiwanis Club for their financial sponsorship to make this possible.
