The popular Shopping by Lantern Light event will return to the Statesboro Main Street Farmers Market pavilion on Tuesday evening, November 21, with extended hours this year from 5:30 pm to 9 pm. The Market is located behind Visit Statesboro at 222 South Main St.
FourPoints Santa will be making a special visit to the Visit Statesboro office that night in front of the Market, so be sure to bring the little ones for photos! While photos with Santa are free, Visit Statesboro kindly requests that you bring donations of canned goods for those in need in our community this holiday season.
Shoppers can expect to find a wide variety of vendors located inside and outside the pavilion, with more than 60 businesses signed up to participate.
Prepare for your Thanksgiving meal with local delicacies and ingredients including fresh produce, cakes, pies, meats, and casseroles. You can also begin your holiday shopping thanks to the huge variety of fine art, crafts, jewelry, soaps, candles, and more.
Shopping by Lantern Light is held annually on the Tuesday before Thanksgiving. No electric lights or open flames are used, so guests truly do shop by lantern light. Along with the opportunity to mingle with friends and vendors, this creates a festive and cozy holiday atmosphere.
The event is an excellent opportunity to shop local and shop small for the holidays.
“In the spirit of the market, we invite a variety of vendors to sell locally or regionally produced food and craft items," said Willow Farmer, Market Manager. "With an emphasis on produce, prepared food, and decorative items, this event highlights products that are perfect for Thanksgiving and holidays.”
Shopping by Lantern Light marks the end of the market season until Spring 2024. Locals can continue to shop the Statesboro Farmers Market2Go online year-round.
