Families came out on Monday night to enjoy Holiday Movie Night on Grady street. The Statesboro Police Department (SPD) and the Statesboro Fire Department (SFD) hosted a Christmas movie night to help spread some Christmas cheer.
Thanks to the partnership of local businesses including Bulloch Solutions, Aspen Aerogels and Party Harbor who partnered with SPD and SFD to bring a fun, festive evening to the community.
The departments temporarily closed Grady Street between the two department and set up a large outdoor movie screen to feature the Christmas movies. The holiday-favorite movies shown included Peanuts: A Charlie Brown Christmas, Frosty The Snowman and Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer.
Santa made a special appearance and donned his blue outfit to support "the Blue" for the event.
Officers and firefighters provided refreshments including popcorn, hot chocolate along with Christmas cheer. Citizens brought chairs and blankets to enjoy the movies.
The two departments partner throughout the year to bring family friendly events to the community in an effort to engage citizens and give children the opportunity to meet the officers and firefighters.
