Church of God the Bibleway Statesboro invites the citizens of Statesboro and Bulloch County to their community cookout this Saturday, February 4, at the Bibleway Apostolic Plaza at 323 West Main Street. The cookout begins at noon. Their outreach ministry is happy to give back to and meet new faces in the local area.

Ahmaad Fields, outreach ministry member, helped plan this event with a set goal in mind.

"Our main goal of the church is to win souls, but at the same time we do want to give back to the community, to show that the church is a refuge."

Ahmaad Fields

Fields also mentions that the mindset at the outreach ministry is to meet spiritual and natural needs. The church's location is in the middle of some of the lower income family housing and a way for them to reach out in the community is to plan and execute events such as this.

"Growing up as kids, me and my brother helped with feeding the homeless on Sundays after service. Our cousin is Carl Gilliard, Georgia House of Representatives District 162 and with Savannah Feed the Hungry; we volunteered with him during the holidays."

With this background, Fields and other church members plan to use different strategies to set goals and apply at all outreach events in Statesboro. This Saturday, they will be giving away free food and clothes. There will also be music, free prayer, and good fellowship with the community.

This local assembly has been serving the community for 7 years and will continue to show the love of God. In the future, they plan on tabling at Georgia Southern campus, helping at a women’s shelter, giving back to patients at local nursing homes, having a school supplies drive, giving away hygiene products, and to give families specific necessities. They're also accepting donations for their outreach ministry as well.

Stop by and grab a bite of some BBQ at the Bibleway Apostolic Plaza at 12p.m. at 323 West Main Street. If you are interested in attending services, click here.
