South Georgia Tormenta FC’s USL W League team closed out their home slate in dramatic fashion, cruising to an 8-0 victory over Wake FC at Tormenta Stadium on Saturday night.
Tormenta set the tone from the opening whistle. Midfielder Meredith Pugh opened the scoring in the 5th minute with her first goal of the season. Forward Flavie Dube followed closely behind with goals in the 6th and 36th minutes, before completing her hattrick in stoppage time of the first half, her first three goals for the club.
Constance Agyemang added her fourth of the season in the 32nd, while Ellie Arnold (50’), Lina Jaime (58’), and Elise Holcey (79’) rounded out the scoring for a final of 8-0. Holcey, a Tormenta FC Academy alumna, netted her first of the season in front of the home crowd.
The defense held strong all night, not allowing a single shot on goal and earning a dominant clean sheet to cap the evening.
The win marks Tormenta’s final home match of the season as they close out with two games on the road. On Wednesday, June 25, the team will travel to face Wake FC once again, before playing their last match of 2025 at Carolina Ascent on Saturday, June 29.
