At the Kiwanis Club of Statesboro's meeting on Thursday, 2022 Fair Chair Lisa Turner presented the 2022 fair dedication to the 2021 Fair Chair, the late Danny Beall. Mr. Beall died in June. The award was presented posthumously to his widow, Karen Beall, who is also a member of the club.

In presenting the dedication, Turner emotionally explained how much Mr. Beall meant to her and the club. She said that when the fair committee come together to discuss the annual dedication, it was an easy decision.
"He loved all things Kiwanis, he loved all things Kiwanisains. I feel like he is here with us today. I know he is looking down, watching over us. He is going to guide us along the way for this fair. I know he is here in spirit," said Lisa Turner, 2022 Kiwanis Ogeechee Fair Chair. "He was one heck of a Kiwanian. He was instrumental in the grounds and the fair as last year's fair chair."

Fair rides already arriving
Turner pointed out that rides are already arriving at the fairgrounds. Amusements of America has just complete a fair in the region and do not have another one scheduled that requires most of the rides until the Kiwanis Fair. They are staging them at the fairgrounds early, instead to taking them back to their home base in Florence, S.C. Even though they are arriving early, the fair will still start on Monday, October 17th,
