The Friends of the Library Bookstore will celebrate its first anniversary this Saturday, October 8. The bookstore is located at 6 Proctor St., under the green awning in the old Maxway shopping center.
From FOL:
We opened our doors last year on October 9, 2021. It has been a year filled with work and joy.

Volunteers have moved books, built bookcases, and sorted and shelved books. It has taken a lot of work to get it to this point, but the joy makes it worth it. The joy of seeing the smiles of children as they pick out a free book, making friends with patrons who come in every week, raising money to support our library, and seeing our sales increase as we go along, all give us great joy and reason to celebrate.
Please come by to browse the shelves (and boxes) and pick out a free book of your choice, enjoy punch and cookies, renew your FOL membership for 2023, and pick up your new book tote with your membership. We will be open from 9 am to 6 pm, so stop by when you can.
A special thanks to all who brought cookies and brownies to our First Friday celebration! We are asking volunteers to bring another batch for our Anniversary Celebration. Is it really a celebration without goodies? You can drop them by the bookstore on Friday from 9 am to 1 pm or on Saturday morning. They will be much appreciated as we share them with our patrons who have supported us this year.
