Children in Statesboro got a Halloween test run at festivals around town on Halloween Eve, Wednesday, October 30, 2024.
Photojournalist Hunter Cone made a spookish dash around town and captured a few of the Halloween celebrations listed on Grice Connect's Halloween Events Calendar and ended at Grace Community Church's Boo Bash.
Families enjoyed themed car decorations, candy-filled paths, and autumn activities, bringing out creative costumes and a joyful atmosphere across all events.
Fun was had by children of all ages. This proved to be a great warm up for Halloween Trick or Treating on Thursday evening.

Bulloch Sheriff's Halloween tips
The Sheriff recommends neighborhood trick or treating for Thursday October 31st from 5:30-7:30pm.
All motorists should use caution and obey all traffic laws.
For trick-or-treaters and guardians:
🎃We encourage families to attend one of the many safe and fun special events hosted around the County.
🎃Only visit familiar, well-lit neighborhoods and homes that have their porch lights on.
🎃Adults should accompany their children, and use a flashlight.
🎃Encourage children to wear costumes that do not restrict their vision.
🎃Walk, don’t run.
🎃Consider placing reflective tape on costumes or treat bags.
🎃Drivers should observe all traffic laws.
🎃Adults should inspect children’s candy before its eaten. For homeowners:
🎃Only hand out commercially wrapped candy.
🎃Only turn your porch light on if you welcome trick-or-treaters.
🎃Secure your pets. Happy trick-or-treating, and be safe!
