We have line crews from other co-ops arriving Wednesday morning to assist with the restoration effort as well as our own personnel and contract crews currently still out working. We started out with close to 10,000 of our members out of power and are currently down to 4877. We are working diligently to get the lights back on but we expect these outages to last into late Wednesday afternoon. Thank you for your patience."

Original story:

A severe thunderstorm impacted Southern Bulloch County Tuesday, August 8, 2023.  As of 8:30 PM EMC and Georgia power are reporting wide spread power outages in the Southern part of Bullloch impacting over 10,000 power customers.

Bullcoh County Public Safety agencies and Bulloch County Public Works are receiving reports of trees down all over the Southern part of Bulloch County.  They are working to clear roadways and encourage citizens to use extreme caution when travelling in that part of the county.  Multiple red lights are out.

EMC and Georgia Power have crews responding to outages.  Due to the wide spread outages and large number of outages citizens could anticipate slow response to power restoration.

EMC is aware that unfavorable weather conditions are causing power outages. Please remember that the only way to make a report of an outage is by calling one of the numbers listed below.

Please do not approach downed power lines or items that are touching power lines.

912-685-2115 or 912-764-2123.
