NWS Charleston has issued a Wind Advisory from 8 AM to 8 PM on Thursday, April 11, 2024. Severe Thunderstorms are possible as well.
A low pressure moving across the area is expected to bring a number of impacts, including gusty winds, high surf, and possible severe weather.
Severe Thunderstorms
Strong thunderstorms are expected to impact the area today, primarily from the mid morning into the afternoon. A few of these thunderstorms could become strong enough to produce damaging wind gusts and even a brief tornado.
Wind Advisory
* WHAT...South winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 40 mph expected. Along the coast, wind gusts up to 45 mph.
* WHERE...Portions of southeast Georgia and southeast South Carolina.
* WHEN...From 8 AM this morning to 8 PM EDT this evening.
* IMPACTS...Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. Gusty crosswinds on bridges could make travel difficult at times.

Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution.
